Not enough flamenco in Austin, you say? Well get ready for EL FLAMENCAZO 2012 at FLAMENCURA!

Six days of music and dance workshops and activities featuring phenomenal guest artists:

plus Percussion workshop with our own Pepe Gaytan, & Palmas and Cante workshops with Isaí Chacón.

All activities are held at Flamencura Music & Dance Studio, 7113 Burnet Rd.#111, unless otherwise indicated.

Guitar workshops with Jose Manuel Tejeda

November 10 and 11
1:30-2:45pm: Beginner—Intro to Flamenco Guitar.Students must have basic guitar knowledge and bring their own guitar. Workshop will cover basic flamenco technique, rhythm and playing styles.

3:15-4:30pm: Intermediate Flamenco Guitar. Students should already have some knowledge of flamenco technique (fingerpicking, rasgueado). Workshop covers additonal technique topics, rhythm and falsetas for a specific flamenco palo.

$75: One level, both days (2.5 hrs total)
$45: One class, either level (1 hr, 15 min)

Cante (singing) Workshop with Isai Chacon

For all levels no experience necessary.Learn the secrets of flamenco singing.Great for dancers, guitarist and just about anyone interested in flamenco

$40 for both classes $25 drop-in

Percussion workshop with Pepe Gaytan

Explore the rhythms of flamenco. No experience necessary. Students must bring their own hand percussion instrument such as cajon, djembe, etc.

12pm FREE Adult Beginner Flamenco Dance Workshop with Olivia Chacón! No experience necessary.

1-1:30pm: FREE palmas (handclapping) workshop. No experience necessary, dancers and musicians welcome.
