Finally, after almost a year and a half, I’m so excited (and a little nervous, to be honest) to be returning to Carmen’s de la Calle in San Antonio to flamenquear this Friday with Isai Chacon, Jose Manuel Tejeda, and Celia Corrales! Honestly, it’s intimidating to get back on that tablao stage, but I know it will feel so good! Two shows, 8pm and 9:45pm, reservations recommended: https://www.carmensdelacalle.com/our-calendar/

Flamenco fans, if you are not familiar with Carmen’s, you should be! In my opinion, it is the best place to see flamenco on a regular basis in Texas–one of the ONLY places that has consistently presented real, true, honest-to-God flamenco every week for at least 15 or 20 years. The owner, Paula Sullivan, believes in supporting flamenco artists (and musicians of all kinds) and providing a great environment for us to do our thing, up-close-and personal so we can see, hear, and feel the audience. At Carmen’s the music (and dance, poetry, whatever happens to be on) is the focus, and in that way it’s more like an authentic Spanish tablao than any other venue I’ve seen in Texas. The food is also great!

By the way we will also be at Carmen’s on Saturday, July 24th, so check the above link to reserve your spot!
